Tel Aviv, Aug. 10 -- Israel has condemned Iran's appointment of former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Mohsen Rezaei as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), arguing that the move reflects Tehran's continued reliance on senior figures accused of involvement in terrorism.
Israel's Foreign Ministry, in a post on X on Monday, accused the Iranian leadership of "worshipping terror" and promoting individuals allegedly linked to terrorist attacks to senior positions of power.
The criticism followed the appointment of Rezaei, 71, by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei. Rezaei replaces Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, who had served as SNSC secretary since March.
