New Delhi, July 1 -- India opener Ishan Kishan has become the new world No. 1 T20I batter, replacing teammate Abhishek Sharma in the latest ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings released on Tuesday.
Kishan climbed to the top after his consistent performances over the last few months, including a successful ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign earlier this year and the recent two-match T20I series against Ireland in Belfast.
The left-hander reached a career-best rating to edge past Abhishek, who had held the No. 1 ranking for almost a year. Kishan is now only the fourth Indian men's batter to occupy the top spot in the ICC T20I rankings after Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek.
