Tehran, May 21 -- Iran's powerful theocratic guard, the IRGC claimed Wednesday that over 26 commercial vessels had managed to successfully traverse the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iranian authorities over the past 24 hours, despite the ongoing heavy US naval blockade of Iranian ports.

The vessels which passed through included oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels, the IRGC Navy said in a statement, adding that transit through the crucial waterway was "ongoing with permits obtained and in coordination with the IRGC Navy", Iranian media reported.
