Dublin, March 19 -- India are set to play a short T20I series in Ireland in June, with Cricket Ireland confirming discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) ahead of the Men-in-Blue's white-ball tour of England in July.
The proposed series comes at a time of transition for Ireland, with captain Paul Stirling announcing on Thursday that he has stepped down from the T20I leadership role following Ireland's disappointing campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, Ireland's director of high performance Graham West confirmed in a statement announcing Stirling's decision that the India series will go ahead, providing the next T20 captain with an early opportunity to begin shaping the team.
