Baghdad, Aug. 8 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi urged French President Emmanuel Macron during a phone call on Saturday to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, the prime minister's office said.
Al-Zaidi stressed the importance of deepening Iraqi-French relations and invited Macron to visit Iraq, according to a statement released by his office.
"The Prime Minister underscored the importance of Iraqi-French relations and invited President Macron to visit Iraq. He also emphasized the importance of working together to build a sustainable economic and investment partnership between the two countries that serves their mutual interests," the statement said.
