Washinton/Tehran, May 31 -- A potential agreement between the US and Iran remains under review in Tehran, as Iranian state-linked media has disputed several of the conditions laid down by President Donald Trump as negotiations enter what both sides describe as a critical final phase.

Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported on Friday that the proposed memorandum of understanding is still "in the final stages of ratification in Iran and has not yet been decided".

The draft agreement is intended to extend the ceasefire, restore commercial shipping through the Gulf and create a window for more comprehensive negotiations on Iran's nuclear programme, sanctions relief and broader regional security issues.
