Tehran, Aug. 4 -- Iran's military "will not stand idly by" as US continues its naval blockade in its waters, senior military adviser Mohsen Rezaei said, warning that Tehran would target any US warships operating through what it considers an unauthorised shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz.

The blockade was reimposed last month after a ceasefire agreed under a US-Iran memorandum of understanding collapsed.

According to CENTCOM, American forces have since redirected 44 commercial vessels, boarded two ships and disabled two others while enforcing the blockade.
