Tehran, Aug. 29 -- Iran on Saturday vowed to resist what it described as "unjust sanctions" and external pressure, while reiterating that it remains open to dialogue with the United States if Tehran's rights and commitments are respected.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged US President Donald Trump to avoid further turmoil in the region, saying outstanding issues could be resolved through dialogue and implementation of a memorandum of understanding reached earlier this year.
"If we proceed through dialogue and on the basis of the memorandum of understanding, we will resolve the problems and secure our rights," Pezeshkian said at a ceremony in Tehran, according to Mehr News Agency.
