Doha, June 30 -- Iran will not be receiving any of its frozen funds just yet, said Qatar on Tuesday post an announcement by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Tehran would be receiving over $6bn worth of funds as part of its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the US signed two weeks ago.
Speaking on the issue, Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said no funds had been transferred to Iran.
"So far, no funds have been transferred," Al Ansari told reporters.
He stressed that Qatar does not control the assets and is acting solely as an intermediary under arrangements agreed between Washington and Tehran.
