Tehran, July 22 -- Responding swiftly to US President Donald Trump's latest warning over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran threatened to target infrastructure and energy facilities across the region should the US strike Iranian civilian infrastructure.

Iran's semi-official IRGC-affiliated media Tasnim news agency, quoting an anonymous military official reported Tehran would retaliate reciprocally if Washington decides to attack Iranian bridges or power plants.

"If the U.S. targets Iranian bridges or power plants, Iran will respond by striking infrastructure and bridges across the region, including energy facilities in which the United States has interests," the official said.
