Tehran, May 10 -- Diplomacy in West Asia has gained renewed momentum, as Iran today formally handed over its response to the latest US proposal to Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the ongoing Washington-Tehran talks aimed at ending hostilities, according to IRNA, citing a source familiar with the matter.

It remains to be seen when Pakistan will pass Iran's reply on to Washington. According to the proposed plan, the initial phase of negotiations will focus on achieving a cessation of hostilities in the region.
