Tehran, Aug. 19 -- Iran is rejecting another temporary ceasefire with the US and instead demanding a "permanent end" to the war, according to Iranian officials, with diplomacy remaining stalled post the expiration of a 60-day interim agreement, reports Gulf News.
The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on June 17 by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, called for an immediate halt to military operations and opening a 60-day period to facilitate negotiation period to discuss the more outstanding issues, including Iran's nuclear programme and sanctions to finalise a settlement.
