Tehran, June 27 -- In a sharp escalation of tensions in the Gulf region that threatens to make the 'paused' conflict spiral out of control and undermine the ongoing diplomatic efforts by Washington and Tehran to negotiate a permanent end to the war, Iran today launched a drone attack against Bahrain following overnight strikes by the US against Tehran's drone attack on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Bahrain's Foreign Ministry, a number of Iranian drones targeted the kingdom, and called the assault as "a flagrant threat to the security of citizens and residents."No immediate details were released regarding casualties or damage.
