Tehran, July 26 -- Iranian armed forces have stopped retaliatory strikes against US military positions in the Middle East after Washington halted its attacks on Iranian territory, Iranian Army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said on Sunday.
"The [US] attacks continued until they stopped two days ago. Since our strategy is based on retaliation, Iran's counter-offensive operations have also ceased," Akraminia was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
Iran's decision to pause attacks on US targets came after concerns over American weapons stockpiles and the risk of a wider regional conflict reportedly influenced Washington's decision to suspend its bombing campaign against Iran.
