Los Angeles, June 22 -- Iran held Belgium to a hard-fought goalless draw in a FIFA World Cup Group G encounter at SoFi Stadium here, with goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand producing a string of outstanding saves and Belgium finishing the match with 10 men after Nathan Ngoy's dismissal.

The result left Iran at the top of Group G with two points, while Belgium remained second on the same tally, with all four teams still in contention heading into the final round of group matches.

Belgium dominated possession throughout the contest, enjoying 70 per cent of the ball, completing 622 passes and generating 1.82 expected goals (xG), but failed to find a way past an inspired Beiranvand.
