Tehran, March 19 -- Iran on Thursday executed three people convicted of killing police officers and carrying out operations in support of the United States and Israel during unrest earlier this year, the judiciary said.

The executions come as the conflict between Israel and the United States enters its 20th day.

According to the judiciary's Mizan Online website, the three individuals were sentenced over their involvement in the January (Dey) unrest. They were accused of murder and acting in favor of what officials described as the "Zionist regime" and the United States. Authorities said they were responsible for the deaths of two law enforcement personnel, Al Jazeera reported.
