Tehran, April 30 -- A senior Iranian naval commander on Thursday warned the US of initiating "swift action" if US forces advance further, amid escalating tensions in the region.
Iran has been disrupting global oil flows at the Strait of Hormuz from the Arabian Sea side.
Outrightly rejecting the US expectations of a quick victory, Commander Shahram Irani said, "The enemy believed it could conclude a war against Iran within days, but that assumption has now become a subject of ridicule in military circles," the statement carried by the state-run broadcaster IRIB.
He added that Iranian forces remain fully committed, stating they are prepared to act decisively in response to any escalation.
