Tehran, May 26 -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday it had shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Persian Gulf after what it described as a violation of Iranian airspace, and warned it would respond decisively to any breach of the ceasefire by US forces.
In a statement carried by Iranian media, the IRGC said its air defence units had downed the drone following "precise intelligence monitoring" of what it called hostile aerial activity.
The Guards also claimed they opened fire on a US RQ-4 surveillance drone and an F-35 fighter jet, forcing both aircraft to leave the area. The statement did not specify when the incidents occurred. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military on the Iranian claims....
