Mumbai, June 18 -- IPL could soon be forced into a calendar shakeup, with the BCCI actively exploring a major shift to tackle one growing problem that is refusing to go away: extreme heat during the Indian summer.
Under the proposed plan being discussed for 2027, the IPL window may be advanced to March 10-May 15, effectively pulling the tournament forward by nearly two weeks compared to its traditional late-March start. The idea is simple but significant-finish the league before peak summer heat and pre-monsoon disruptions begin to impact matches.
