New Delhi, June 27 -- India's most well-known Winter Olympian Shiva Keshavan sees the International Olympic Committee's USD 10,000 athlete support grant as a "recognition for all the years of hard work that goes into becoming an Olympian."The IOC has introduced this grant under its 'Fit for the Future' strategic framework and all Olympians, who apply for it, starting from the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics willbenefit from the programme.

The programme has a fund of USD 140 million per Olympiad and is expected to support around 14,000 Olympians, each eligible for a USD 10,000 grant for every edition of the Olympic Games in which they compete.
