Tura, March 18 -- Mobile data services were restored across the five districts in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya on March 18 after remaining suspended for a week in the wake of violence, killing of two persons during protests against participation of non-tribals in elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
The state government postponed elections to the tribal council, slated for April 10.
In its notification, the Meghalaya home (political) department stated that the March 11 order, temporarily suspending internet services in West Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills districts, was revoked with immediate effect.
