New Delhi, June 21 -- Thousands of Delhi residents rolled out their yoga mats across parks, temple complexes and public grounds on Sunday as the city marked International Yoga Day with mass sessions that brought together public representatives, spiritual leaders, senior citizens, women and children.
At District Park in Sector-14, Rohini, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta joined hundreds of participants in performing yoga asanas and breathing exercises.
Addressing the gathering, he described yoga as "India's timeless gift to humanity" that strengthens the body, calms the mind and promotes a balanced way of life.
