Navi Mumbai, April 28 -- : The Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to take a major step forward in expanding its operations, as international flight services are now scheduled to commence from May. After successfully initiating domestic flight operations, the airport is fully prepared to handle international traffic.

Originally, international services were slated to begin on March 29. However, the schedule had to be postponed due to the impact of the US-Iran tensions, which disrupted planning and timelines.

According to Vijay Singhal, Managing Director of City and Industrial Development Corporation, approximately 35 international flights are expected to operate daily from the airport once services begin.
