Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- The Cuttack Rural Police have busted an inter-district gang involved in a series of loot cases, arresting two notorious criminals along with eight receivers of stolen property.

Gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs.1.40 crore have been recovered from their possession. Cuttack Rural SP Vinit Agarwal said the gang was active across Cuttack, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts, targeting residential houses during late-night hours.

During the operation, police seized around 925 grams of gold, 3.1 kg of silver valued at approximately Rs.8 lakh, Rs.61,600 in cash, two luxury cars and two walkie-talkies, among other items. The investigation is still underway, and further recoveries are likely.
