Nagpur, Feb. 26 -- Students at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), Nagpur have alleged that insects and caterpillars were found in food served at the campus mess, prompting demands for an inquiry and action against those responsible.
According to students, the incident occurred during lunch on Wednesday when a deep-fried caterpillar was allegedly discovered in a vegetable dish.
They further claimed that a dead insect was found on a piece of fruit, a fly-like object was seen in another vegetable preparation and a sponge-like substance appeared in mushroom curry.
Images of the food items were circulated on students' WhatsApp groups, triggering outrage and concerns over hygiene standards.
