Agartala, July 21 -- The government of Tripura has declared a day of state mourning in remembrance of Anurag Dhankar, the state's Director General of Police (DGP), who was discovered hanging in his office washroom.
All government buildings will display the national flag at half-mast, and there will be no official entertainment events on Tuesday.
Following a special cabinet meeting last night, the Tripura government appointed G S Rao, the current Additional Director General (ADG) and a 1999 batch IPS officer from the Tripura cadre, as the acting DGP.
