Agartala, April 14 -- Tensions within the ruling BJP's coalition partner in Tripura government, TIPRA Motha, escalated when the state's Forest Minister and MLA from Motha, Animesh Debbarma, filed a defamation suit against fellow party MLA Ranjit Debbarma in the Agartala Judicial Magistrate Court.
This legal action arises from alleged defamatory comments made by MLA Ranjit Debbarma during the recent campaign for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, held on April 12, with counting scheduled for April 17.
