Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Indonesia has offered to assist India in repatriating five infant orangutans rescued in Balasore, with their return contingent on DNA tests establishing that the animals originated in Indonesia, the Wildlife Society of Orissa (WSO) has said.
According to a letter written by WSO secretary Biswajit Mohanty to the union Environment Ministry, Indonesia's Ministry of Forestry approached India's CITES Management Authority on September 10 and offered assistance to facilitate the repatriation process.
