Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara provincial government has declared a 14-day emergency response period following a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Flores Island on Aug. 15, according to a provincial government decree.
The emergency response will run from Aug. 15 to Aug. 28, under a decree signed by East Nusa Tenggara Governor Melki Laka Lena.
The earthquake was centered about 30 km northeast of Mbay in Nagekeo Regency at a depth of 15 km, the decree said.
Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency reported that the earthquake and 341 aftershocks had killed 51 people and injured 113 others.
