New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- Continuing India's stand on the Asia Cup trophy presentation, the Indian women's cricket team did not accept the silverware from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi after beating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai on Sunday.
The Indian team had earlier made it clear that it did not want Naqvi to present the trophy. The BCCI offered two alternatives - ACC deputy chair Khalid Al Zarooni handing over the silverware or a representative of the winning board doing so - but neither proposal was accepted.
Explaining the team's position after the match, India head coach Amol Muzumdar said the decision was taken by the BCCI and that the players fully supported it....
