New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Indian stock markets made a comeback on Thursday, with the Nifty snapping a seven-session losing streak. Buying emerged across key sectors amid positive global cues, supported by easing US Treasury yields.
In the initial hours, the market witnessed some profit booking but regained momentum later in the session.
During the day, the Nifty hit an intraday high of 24,265.15. Sectors such as media, financial services, and realty led the rally.
At close, Sensex was up 628.04 points or 0.82 percent at 77,537.72, and the Nifty was up 153.55 points or 0.64 percent at 24,231.85. Mid-cap index rose 0.4% and small-cap index gained 0.7%.
