Hyderabad, Sept. 25 -- Six in 10 Indian nonprofits use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) daily, but the sector's average digital maturity score stands at just 4.4 out of 10, according to the State of Nonprofits Digitization Report 2026 released by Digital for Nonprofits (D4NP).
The report assessed the digital maturity and technology adoption of 500 Indian nonprofits across 10 sectors and 20 digital maturity parameters.
It highlighted a significant gap between rapid GenAI adoption and the maturity of underlying digital infrastructure.
While 85 per cent of the nonprofits surveyed use multiple GenAI tools, only 25 per cent have assessed their impact or implemented safeguards to protect sensitive data, the report said.
