New Delhi, July 28 -- In a major push towards gender equality in the armed forces and improved welfare for military families, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday unveiled two key policy reforms for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), granting women officers equal opportunities in recruitment and career progression while simplifying the process of providing ex-gratia compensation to the families of personnel who go missing at sea in the line of duty.
