New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- The 22nd edition of the India-US Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas commenced on Tuesday with the opening ceremony at the Auli Foreign Training Node in Uttarakhand, with 600 personnel from each side participating in the exercise being simultaneously conducted at Auli and the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.

The exercise, which brings together the Indian and US armies, is aimed at enhancing their joint military capabilities for the employment of Integrated Battle Groups in mountainous and semi-mountainous terrain, with a particular emphasis on infantry-dominated operations.
