Panchkula, Aug. 31 -- India has made a big effort to develop its own semiconductor industry, launching Semicon 2.0 with 40pc financial help for large silicon chip factories, 35pc support for compound semiconductors, photonics and display making, 35pc aid for advanced chip packaging, and up to 75pc funding for semiconductor research and talent growth, while also supporting chip design, equipment, raw materials and testing.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) notified on Monday that Semicon 2.0, a plan to develop semiconductor design and manufacturing in India, will increase government financial support across the entire semiconductor industry.
