New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- India Under-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav has been handed a two-year suspension for age fraud after the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) found discrepancies inhis age records.
The disciplinary action has also resulted in his removal from the India Under-19 squad for the upcoming series against Australia.
The discrepancy came to light during a pre-season documentation verification exercise conducted by the CAB. Rohit, who was part of India Under-19's tour of Sri Lanka in July, was found to have an age discrepancy of 27 months, according to the association.
The suspension takes effect immediately, with the CAB informing all BCCI-affiliated state associations of the action taken against the Bengal player.
