New Delhi, July 22 -- India's estimated renewable energy potential more than doubled to 4,704,043 MW as of March 31, 2025, from 2,109,655 MW a year earlier, according to the 33rd edition of Energy Statistics India 2026 released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) here on Wednesday.
The report also showed that the country's Total Primary Energy Supply (TPES) increased to an estimated 39,055 petajoules in 2024-25, compared with 37,936 petajoules in the previous financial year, reflecting a rise in overall energy availability.
