Bhubaneswar, July 18 -- union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel on Saturday said India's population-based screening programme for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is the world's largest preventive healthcare initiative, with every individual aged 30 years and above being screened for five major health conditions.
Addressing the 6th Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Patel said the nationwide screening programme covers diabetes, hypertension, oral cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer, calling it a significant milestone in the country's shift towards preventive healthcare.
