New Delhi/ Hyderabad, Sept. 15 -- India's merchandise exports grew 26.12 per cent year-on-year to USD 43.81 billion in August 2026 from USD 34.74 billion in August 2025, according to trade data released on Tuesday.

Overall exports of merchandise and services were estimated at USD 82.68 billion during the month, registering a 25.41 per cent growth over August 2025.

Merchandise imports stood at USD 70.67 billion in August, while the merchandise trade deficit narrowed marginally to USD 26.86 billion from USD 27.22 billion a year ago.

Overall imports of merchandise and services were estimated at USD 92.09 billion, resulting in an overall trade deficit of USD 9.41 billion.
