Thiruvananthapuram, June 5 -- India needs to move beyond promotion-driven tourism strategies and focus on creating globally competitive destinations and meaningful visitor experiences to fully harness tourism's potential as a major source of employment and foreign exchange earnings, Additional Secretary and Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Suman Billa, has said.
