New Delhi, April 26 -- The Government of India on Sunday said there is no shortage of cooking gas across the country and urged citizens to refrain from panic buying, even as it intensified coordinated measures to manage energy supplies and safeguard Indian nationals amid the evolving situation in West Asia.

According to a comprehensive update provided by the government, no dry-outs have been reported at LPG distributorships, with more than 51.8 lakh domestic cylinders delivered on April 25 alone. Authorities stressed that supplies of domestic LPG, piped natural gas (PNG) and CNG for transport are being maintained at 100 per cent levels, despite global uncertainties linked to developments around the Strait of Hormuz.
