Dhaka, July 23 -- India has invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 12-13, as a special guest.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka today, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, said the ministry had received the invitation letter from the Indian side and forwarded it to the Prime Minister's Office.
India, which is set to host the 18th BRICS Summit, has invited the Bangladesh premier to the gathering although Bangladesh is not a member of the grouping.
