New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- India will look to close out the Sri Lanka series with a 2-0 sweep and take another step forward in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle when the two teams meet in the second and final Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Sunday.
The 165-run win in Galle gave Shubman Gill's side a much-needed boost after a difficult period in Test cricket, particularly overseas. India's last Test series win outside the country came against the West Indies in July 2023. Since then, they have lost series in Australia and shared the honours with South Africa and England, while home defeats against New Zealand and South Africa also raised questions over the team's ability to consistently perform.
