Belfast, June 26 -- Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will have to wait for his India debut after captain Shreyas Iyer confirmed on Friday that the youngster was left out of the playing XI as India won the toss and elected to field against Ireland in the opening T20I here.
"Unfortunately, no. He'll get his opportunity when the time comes. For now, we're going with three genuine seamers and one allrounder," Iyer said when asked if Sooryavanshi would feature in the playing XI.
Explaining his decision to bowl first, Iyer said India were entering unfamiliar conditions. "It's a new surface for us, first time in Belfast. Considering the conditions, the environment and the wicket, we want to field first," he said.
