New Delhi, June 9 -- India on Tuesday expressed concern over reports of violence against protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and said it hoped the international community would hold the country "accountable for its misdeeds and abuses".

India accused Pakistan of attempting to divert attention from alleged human rights violations after deadly clashes left at least 11 people dead and dozens injured ahead of a region-wide protest called by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).

Responding to developments in the region, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said New Delhi had observed "a pattern of fake news and videos emanating from Pakistan" in connection with the unrest.
