Glasgow, July 29 -- India continued its impressive run at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with two more silver medals on Day Five as long-distance runner Gulveer Singh and weightlifter Harjinder Kaur finished second in their respective events, while several athletes progressed in athletics despite mixed fortunes in swimming and weightlifting.
Asian champion Gulveer Singh produced a spirited effort in challenging cold and rainy conditions to claim silver in the men's 10,000m final. Staying with the leading pack throughout the race, the Indian unleashed a strong finish over the final lap to clock 27:49.78, narrowly behind Australia's Ky Robinson, who won gold in 27:48.93. David Mullarkey of the Isle of Man took bronze in 27:50.28.
