Glasgow, July 31 -- India was assured of another boxing medal at the Commonwealth Games after Ankush Panghal produced a commanding performance to defeat Canada's Joshua Ofori and advance to the men's 80kg final on Friday.
The 20-year-old Indian dominated the semifinal from the opening bell, taking the first round with crisp jabs, swift footwork and powerful combinations.
A thunderous left hook left Ofori on the back foot, while the Canadian also received a referee's warning as Ankush dictated the pace throughout the contest before sealing a comfortable victory.
The win guaranteed India at least a silver medal and extended the country's impressive run in the boxing competition, where multiple pugilists have reached the medal rounds.
