New Delhi, June 4 -- India and Venezuela are looking to deepen their energy ties and forge a long-term strategic partnership, with Caracas emerging as India's third-largest crude oil supplier this month, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.
Briefing reporters after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's talks with Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, MEA Secretary (East) Rudrendra Tandon said energy cooperation was a key focus of the discussions, underpinned by Venezuela's vast oil reserves and India's steadily growing energy demand.
