Agartala, June 17 -- To fight against climate change and emission reduction steps, India and Japan have established the Rule of Implementation for Joint Crediting Mechanism, as per Article 6.2 of Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
In a statement issued here today, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said, last year, India and Japan entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation related to Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM).
The cooperation set forth a collaborative framework aimed at reduction or removal of greenhouse gas emissions while promoting sustainable development goals in India and assisting both countries in meeting their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
