New Delhi, April 30 -- union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday flagged-off a special train for the 'Somnath Swabhimaan Parv - Somnath Yatra', carrying around 1,400 pilgrims, from Safdarjung Railway Station.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta described the Yatra as a historic and cultural initiative dedicated to '1,000 years of unbroken faith', aimed at reconnecting the people of the national capital with the country's spiritual heritage.
Gupta said that the Somnath Swabhiman Parv Yatra marks the completion of 1,000 years of the revered Somnath temple, and while taking off from Delhi, it marks the government's resolve of 'Development as well as Heritage.' As part of this, efforts have b...
